Shipment going 1st July - surviving til the 25th...?

Hi overseas movers!!
Does anyone have any advice for approaching our shipment (containing everything/almost everything) leaving around three weeks before we fly...
I have 2 DC - aged 6 and 3.
I am working til the end of the month but need our stuff to go earlier so that it arrives in time for DC3’s birth!
(I know I must be mad)

Do we keep air beds and sleeping bags and sleep on those?
And a kettle/toaster - then trash it?
Towels - a beach one each.
Four plates, bowls, knives, forks, spoons, corkscrew (!)...
Toys

Have you any tips?
Have you any suggestions for things not to ship - to leave until I pack my case?

We are renting our house out here once gone, so the washer and fridge will still be available for us to use luckily.

That’s good @Lisyloo725 that quarantine is sorted by the company. I had the same fears about customs! We also scrubbed all shoes, wellies and bikes. In the end a couple of pine cones arrived in amongst the Christmas decorations. Fortunately we don’t have to be so scrupulous coming back to the U.K.

Hi @Lisyloo725 how are you doing? You must be about to leave now.

Hey, it’s definitely normal to have more ‘built in’ stuff in Australia than the U.K. but not always the case. We are in the process of moving back the other way - leave in early August. Where are you moving? If Melbourne and might need any furniture or white goods like washing machine we are moving our stuff on

Anything being shipped to Oz at the minute is hitting delays (my husband works in freight). Even in normal times our container took a couple of weeks longer than originally planned, we hired an Airbnb for three months to get settled in. Believe me, emigrating is tough, you will not want to be sleeping on airbeds for months! Also the rental market is absolutely brutal at the minute here are a lot of tenants competing for every half decent property. I'm not trying to worry you, just trying tp prepare you! Good luck, it will all be worth it! Are your flights booked? I hope they are paying for Business class for you!

we rented airbnb for a couple of weeks but then moved in to a long term rental- we had about 6 weeks i think without our stuff but you can actually just rent furniture and stuff like crockery/cutlery etc- we needed a long term rental rather than an air bnb for school purposes
