Prestation compensatoire as part of a French divorce

I've been awarded a compensation compensatoire as part of my divorce in France. At the moment the monies are blocked by the notaire who handled the sale of our house.

I no longer have a barrister - he tricked me into going to court when it was his summons and then invoiced me 1200€ fpr the pleasure.

So, anyone know how I go about getting my hands on this money? At the moment unfortunately I'm seriously skint.

I think you need to get proper legal advice. My understanding is that prestations compensatoires are v complex and quite hard to implement at times.
Did the judge say that it should be paid as a lump sum, or in instalments? Why is the notaire sitting on the funds?

Can you go to a point d'accès au droit or similar and ask for advice?

Thanks for the reply.

My barrister asked the notaire not to distribute the funds. The notaire has said that the distribution will take place as part of the dissolution of the marriage (liquidation de regime matrimonial).

I have been awarded a capital sum which is about 2000€ more than half the house sale proceeds.

I had free access to 1-off legal advice through law express and have been advised to go for 'saisie d' attribution' involving bailiffs.

It has to be paid before the 28th October or it becomes taxable which will cost me about 22000€ which I can't afford to lose.

Unfortunately I can't find the copy of the judgement that my ex-barrister sent so have filled in the correct cerfa form and sent it to the court.

If this doesn't work I feel like giving up the whole thing, it's been 4 years of hell with the most incredible level of aggression from xh's barrister.

Yes, I need the money but I feel the level of stress it's caused isn't worth 150,000€.
