Can anyone who has taken young children out to Canada please tell me whether our Uk Vacc stand for anything or do they need a new course that is relevant for there. Dd's are 1 and 3 and up to date in Uk. Can they get vacc done here before we go or wait until we are out in Canada

Going to add to this one now incase anyone can also answer- does my 3yr old need a study permit to go to pre-school. I think it would only be if she was ready to start primary by which time we should hopefully have permanent residency??

Just saw this, your uk immunizations are fine in canada. You will just need to prove you had them done. But anything you missed, can easily be obtained in canada. My ds has uk and canadian immunizations and they accepted the UK ones without question (and I just had them given to me orally over the phone as i had no written record) and he got what we call a booster shot (between ages 4-7) to updates his immunizations before he started school. I don't know what a study permit is but preschools here are private which you pay for. At 4 in some provinces kids go to school half days and 5 year olds go in the afternoons half days. Other provinces they start at 5 and go all day. Depends on where you will be living. Hope this helps.
