Pregnant in France

Hello, I live in France and have recently found out that I am pregnant.
Although I have other children this is my first doing it through the French system and I am finding everything very daunting.
I am almost 9 weeks, have had an appointment with a Gyne, have an appointment for bloods tomorrow and have my next gyne appointment booked for 3 weeks.
Is there anything else I should be doing at this stage? Do I need to notify my health insurance and CPAM or will I be given something to send to them by the Gyne?

Félicitations!
You have to declare the pregnancy to CAF and CPAM before 14 weeks. Your gynaecologist or GP should give you a form for this or it can be done online.
I don't think you have to tell the mutuelle you are expecting but remember to tell them when the baby is born!

Congratulations. I found the main difference between the uk and France was the amount of times I saw the Doctor. I had 2 dcs in the uk without ever seeing a doctor but in france it was all doctor lead and I saw one and had a scan at least once a month.

I really don't want to scaremonger but you will need to make sure if your carte vitale will still be valid after Brexit. I'm sure it will, but giving birth can be expensive. We had to sign off the bill for DD3 and it was about 10k€

Congratulations! I've also just found out I'm pregnant in France. This is my first and I'm only about 6 weeks along.

I think you're doing everything you need to be. According to the nurse who did my blood tests we just need to make an appointment with a gynaecologist or sage-femme at around 12 weeks and then they'll do the CPAM forms for us.

I think in your blood tests they will check for toxoplasmosis and if you're not immune you'll have to be tested once a month for it.

Congrats! I am hoping to soon be pregnant in France so have been researching. One thing that seemed really clear to me was that you should make sure you have a mutuelle. A pregnant friend of mine needed special tests done at 24 weeks and it cost her €650 as she had her carte vitale but not her mutuelle !
