Getting children ready for international school exam - subjects to cover?

Hi

I am currently tutoring some two children for an exam in a month for an international school in Singapore.

Youngest is four years old so just verbal testing. Eight years old is verbal and reading and writing.

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of what subjects there children covered in these exams.

I was thinking to get the children to revise
Shapes
Colours
Days of the week
Transport
Months
Weather
Careers / jobs
Animals

Any suggestions on what to cover.

Thankyou:)

The schools primarily want to know that what they saw on paper (report cards) is a true reflexion. Ie:

  • school ready (socially)
  • whether they need EAL support or if there might be an undisclosed learning support requirement.
-for the eldest, basic grade level literacy and numeracy skills. At this stage of the year, just pick up an age appropriate bond assessemnt booklet and do a bit of math and reading comprehension. nobody fails a test for a few spelling mistakes but they will want to assess that they can read and infer meaning by answering a few simple questions. what schools?

Oh just to add, the schools know how to spot a child that has been overprepped for interviews. It is a common thing for Asian parents to overdo it.
What they want to see is a child that is happy to go to school and can
-- happily chat away with an adult for 5-10mn
-- blend into a group activity with other kids for 20-30mn

Thanks for the reply . It is a international school in Singapore teaching the British curriculum.

The sister has already had her interview to get in and passed but her level of English reading and writing is higher than her sisters.

They gave her a picture of fairies and asked her to explain and write about what is happening in the pictures.

She is good at having conversations and talking. She is getting better at reading but we really need to work on phonics.
