Hi we recently shifted to remote area of nsw,staying on rent,we have to pay weekly rental for the house,I would like to know about the water bill??we were told by the broker that we should be paying 10$extra per week as water bill,is water so costly???

Rentals usually make the tenants pay all water costs. What is it you want to know exactly?

My water bill (South Australia) is anywhere between $130 - $200 a quarter, depending on season.

We're on a septic system (so no waste water charges) and we pay around $70 a quarter for the usage - in NSW the landlord pays the fee for being connected to the mains. Can't remember what that's called but it's like the standing charge for the supply of gas / electric.

What should happen is the real estate gets the bill and they pay the whole thing, they will then send you an invoice (along with a copy of the actual bill) for your bit.

That's assuming you're on town water and not tank water.

In WA the landlord pays the water charges and the tenant pays the water usage.

In NSW, tenants only pay water usage. Connection to sewage etc.... is paid by landlord. The property manager must show you the water bill, which has different lines for water charges and after usage. You only pay what you use.
And if there is no water saving fittings in you house, you don't have to pay for water
