Teaching in Brussels

Hi all Belgian MNers, I was hoping someone might have some info for me?

I am looking to apply for a teaching role at BSB, and have a few questions before writing the application.

Do teachers' children usually get free places at the school? If so, is the bilingual stream open for any children or just those who speak French at home?

I am looking for bilingual opportunities for my children. Do most teachers live near to the school, or is living in a more francophone are, eg. WSP, a realistic possibility?

Thank you very much for any advice.

They are not little courgettes though mother, they are either large or round, though I did find some yellow ones in Carrefour in Tervuren the other week.

When I'm home in Cornwall, I can get little baby courgettes; in a decade here I haven't found any here in Carrefour, Delhaize or Colryut. Lots of green beans here too, but the price of both the soup leeks and the other leeks in Carrefour had rocketed on Friday. Stacks of salad leaves though.

Grin you know some places in hackney cost north of a million right? I think the difference is london has so many different nationalities that you do have a total mix not just whites v Moroccans with the Congolese a sub species.
Areas are also more mixed class wise due to council estates and private property Cheek by jowl

I was replying to the no idea what you're talking about re massive segregation post. I never said it didn't exist elsewhere but was simply replying to this.

In my 31 years here, I have known many Belgians and non Belgians whose children have gone to a variety of schools. Many of them have the same issue. Great if your experience is different and of course not every school is going to be the same but my overall impression of the people I know/have met is not particularly positive. I didn't say it was appalling. I find the system old fashioned and discouraging, lacking in choice, creativity and facilities.
