They're probably held at a church hall GTFrau. Have a look at the church noticeboards or go in and ask if they have a Mutter-Kind-Gruppe maybe.

My dc are 7 and 8 years old. They go to the german grundschule. We went to quite a few toddler groups and as SSShakethechi said some were at the church hall but you can go to the Familienbildungstätte groups whcih are good because your dc gets to learn the typical german games and songs.
Which english group do you go to? Is it the one near Gärtringen? I know there are loads of english speaking families in that area (Brits, Aussies and South Africans) If Tübingen isn't too far they also have a good "English on a Friday afternoon" group at the FBS.
You're so lucky, you can just enjoy your 2 years and you know you don't have to stay for ever. I really need a light at the end of the tunnel some days so every job application dh sends off is like my light! Just got turned down for Glasgow yesterday

Thanks for the tips, both - I will see how I get on! Admylin. I am not near either of those places, we are just outside Schwabisch Gmund. I totally agree with you about being able to look at things differently when you think you are only here for a relatively short while. I am not saying it is all bad, not at all - but I don't think that I could ever live somewhere permanently where they are so RUDE to you at the supermarket! . Will keep my fingers crossed for your DH's job applications - it sounds like you are really ready for home, so good luck.

GTfrau I think you need to come and experience the supermarkets in Berlin.... I doubt anywhere else can top the "Berliner Schnauze". Mind you I wonder sometimes if the restaurants aren't worse.

Admylin, sorry to hear the job in Glasgow didn't eventuate.

SSShakeTheChi, believe me, the Berlin supermarkets are like paradise on earth compared to the swabian ones! I am so much more relaxed about shopping here in Berlin!
