Repatriation + pregnancy

Hi All,

Am an expat nearing the end of my pregnancy and I have been repatriated back to my husband's home country because I can't give birth where we live. My husband and daughter will join me closer to the delivery date.

I was sad leaving even though I know that i can't give birth where we live. But it is hard to be away from our home (where we live), the things that I know. In the last few weeks of pregnancy you just want to in your own house getting things ready, but I had to pack my suitcases and now I am in a rented apartment. however, I thought that it would be good to have some time to myself.

But I am finding it hard and depressing. I miss my home + family and my daily routine. I just feel like i am hanging around the place, I have nothing much to do and feel completely at a loose end. Now my doctor has also told me that I should be resting, otherwise I will go into early labour. I have been to some groups, but I have no car here and have to take public transport. So once I get to the place and get home i am absolutely exhausted.

Has anybody else been in the same situation and how did you get through it?

Thanks

That sounds rough. Must be difficult for all of you. Can you get some videos, audio books, do crafting, sewing etc? Can you order stuff online? Are there meetup groups near you or can you take a taxi to an antenatal class?

Sounds very isolating. May i ask why you had to move before your family?

I have taken taxis to some antenatal class, it costs a bomb! I have been watching loads of TV but I might start crafting to keep my ming occupied. I had to leave before my family because there is a limit for travelling by plane and I left a week before that limit. My family has stayed behind because my husband has a lot of work to finish off before joining me and we thought it best for my daughter to go with her daily routine (as we will also be moving this year, a lot of changes for her).
