There are a lot of private English Language schools on Malta, natalie, maybe you could both do a TEFL course before you go. What other skills do you have? TImeshare?

The majority of Maltese people speak English as well as Maltese, and often another European language like Italian. There's a thriving year-round tourist trade, so perhaps you could find something in that line.

We have a home on Gozo and I have always spent a few months out there each year. If you go on Linkedin their are quite a few jobs boards dedicated to jobs on Malta. English is widely spoken as a first language and there are lots of jobs in the tourist trade but they don't tend to offer year round opportunities. I have friends on the island who have year round jobs within companies and found that some other language skills benefitted them. not full on fluency but some conversational Maltese and european languages will help you out no end.

Hi Natalie,

My husband and I moved to Malta from the UK in October of last year and I had my daughter here in December. I can't help too much on the schools front but if you'd like any info or advice on anything else I'd be more than happy to try to help! (That's presuming you're not out here already, of course!)

Hope to hear from you.

All the best
Elise
