Cost of New Zealand State Schools for Non Resident Children

My question is how much would it cost to send a British Child on a visitors Visa to a State School in New Zealand. Doesn't have to be exact but would just like an idea. I don't seem to be able to find out online.
Thanks

It might be different at every school. In Australia each school sets it's own 'fees' so some are hundreds and others a few thousand. Ours are $400 and something and my friend who came to our school paid that and also I seem to remember about $6000. So it's possible that each school sets it's own.

Some school factor in all the costs. So another friend pays up front for all swimming, trips, camp. We pay for those through the year.

Just had a look on my daughter's school website (state primary) and they have a brochure for international students, which says the cost for the academic year is $10,800. Hope this helps - I am presuming a lot of schools will have this, as Savoy says I think each school sets their own.

I have done a bit of googling and looking at different sites. I found this that you could read as you don't pay but they need a visa. We came in on PR so it wasn't an issue.
I do know that children from 3 to 5 can get 20 hrs free childcare and that doesn't depend on resident status.

You could pick a few schools and email them.

I email a school to ask a few questions before I came here.

There is a donation that you pay and then can claim back though your tax ours was about $70 for 2 children then second child was $10. We also had to pay for stationary which was about $40-$50 it looks like it get cheaper the older they get as they use more common books that get reduced in the shops just after Christmas.

Uniform is expensive but it does seam to last. If you look at the pinafores they have an extra bit of material so you can get them altered as they grow a size 5 may last a child 3 years at least that way.

I will ask what happens if a child doesn't have pr tomorrow

Hi faye

This is Auckland's top state school for boys:

ags.school.nz/at-grammar/international-students/fees/

and the equivalent for girls (fees are not listed but I'm guessing about the same)

Auckland's top private girls' school:

and top private boys' school:

There are also religious school - usually Catholic - I don't think you need to be Catholic to attend as an international student:
