POLAND - Any advice?

Hi
I have a friend travelling to Poland soon with her 7mth old DD. Its only for a week but as baby has only recently been weaned she is naturally apprehensive about food and baby things in general over there.
So - does anyone know names of popular baby food brands so she knows that to look out for?
The same goes for nappies and wipes?
What is Poland like for feeding babies in resturants? Can they provide simply food for mashing and highchairs?
What are baby changing facilities like?
Any other advice which you might feel would be useful would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

How about getting a little baby food grinder that you crank by hand? They're cheap and she can just take a little of what's on her plate and mash it up in the restaurant. Say potatoes and veges with a bit of gravy. Or mash a banana with a fork and add milk till it's smooth enough.

This is the kind of thing I mean but you can get different ones that look a bit like a metal sieve with a grinding arm:

Why doesn't she take some dried packet food just in case but sure she'll be able to buy fruit and veg easily!!
No idea about nappies as take my own clothies on hol. Same with wipes but surely one packet of wipes would last a week??
Changing rooms may be thin on the ground but a quiet corner and a knee will suffice, how about a travel highchair too? We bought a cloth one of e-bay which was OK but usually just sat DD on our knee on in the buggy.
Never been to Poland by the way but we managed 3 weeks in Argentina with no probs - just chill out and go with the flow.

where's she going in Poland - a town or the countryside somewhere?

I'm not sure,probably a town. She'll be staying in a hotel.

Poland is in Europe, not the arse of nowhere. You can buy baby food there and nappies, Pampers and Hipp and other European brands plus Polish own brands. (DD2 particularly liked a rabbit one!)

Baby changing facilities probably thin on the ground as they are in most of mainland Europe, in my experience.

Highchairs unlikely to be provided in restaurants unless you are in a larger hotel. Suggest you feed jars rather than mash up food, esp if you don't want the baby to have salt, but having said that, most European baby food, including Hipp, contains salt from 6 months. If she is only going for a week, she could maybe take her own jars if she is worried about salt content?

PS Polish for salt is "sol".

Agree with MrsS, nappies, fruit, veg etc. all readily available.

And the Poles generally love children so will probably be very accommodating.
