Hey Mogwai! So you're going!!! That's fab. We landed in the UK last Thursday to do lots of relative visiting, arrived in our home town Monday night, back to work yesterday and into our own home last night. Absolutely exhausted; looked at the pile of boxes in storage, felt like it was only last week that I had packed them and lugged them down to the basement and I have no compulsion to unpack whatsoever. Found our fabby duvet though and had the best night's sleep for at least a month.

Having extended holiday on the way home was the best thing to do - gave some separation between leaving QLD which was hard and getting home - felt less like a wrench when we touched down at LHR.

I would second everything Eids said about prices. Remember though that although petrol scoots up and down in price 5c is hardly anything in UK money so it's not as big a leap as it seems.

Hope you have a fantastic time.

i can only speak for Brisbane and some areas of QLD - when I lived out west - petrol was expensive and did not vary that muchin price.

I am in Brisbane - hannahsaunt was in FNQ.

eidsvold - we have online supermarket here in Brisbane. Both coles and woolworths have online shopping with home delivery. I haven't tried it myself but I looooove grocery shopping and wouldn't give up wandering down the aisles.

ohh not in my area - must check it out - although late night shopping is my hour away from the monkeys - exciting I know but hey.....

mymama · 04/08/2006 00:42

an hour!! You are not walking slow enough and checking the labels properly . My shopping takes at least 2 1/2 hours
