Should we move our small kitchen appliances?

Like the coffee maker and blender from North America to Europe? They are brand new or I wouldn't even consider it an option.

The packers are here in 3 hours so I am making final decisions.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Cadmum - first of all good luck with your move - that came around quickly!

In answer to your question I think the voltage is different and they won't work here - sorry.

Do check but you may need transformers as well as adapters/plug change, which may not be an economic option. If you decide to ,it woul eb cheaper to get those in US but you may still find they don't work as well.

no wouldn't be worth it - the plugs are different and so is the voltage

Alipiggie · 22/06/2006 16:43

They do work, you need a ramp up transformer. I've got one here (Co) for my Kenwood Chef and other kitchen goodies. And electrical goods are far more expensive in Europe than the US

We moved our kitchen appliances from the US to the UK. We have an American zone in our kitchen with a large transformer and a strip of American plugs. They work fine. We also have a few rechargeable gadgets, so that's where we use the chargers.

I would recommend that you buy one of those multi plug boards in the US, then you can whack it through whatever transformer you need, and you don't need to change a plug!

You definitely need to keep the American plugs on so that you don't plug it in to 220V by mistake.
