Driving to SW France

We are looinkg at moving to SW France at the end of this summer and will drive some of our furniture and effects over ourselves possibly.

What I am wondering is how much this costs in petrol, roughly? It will be in a van but the cost for a car on the same journey would at least give me some idea!

It will be either Poitou Charente or around that region but again anything vaguely SW woudl give me an idea at least.

TIA!

As I'm sure you know petrol is cheaper in France so go over as empty as you dare and fill up when you get there. We normally fill up when we get off the ferry and a full tank takes us down just past La Rochelle easily - I think we're talking about 50-60 euro (Renault Scenic) but I don't accept any liability if I'm wrong Grin I think if you go on the motorway you are looking at around £20-25 in toll charges but it does make it so much quicker. We have family around there - it's a gorgeous place, good luck.

Thank you, thank you!

I managed to use multimap to give a rough idea in the end but your account sounds more realistic so that's great to know. We now have to choose between Coulonges-sur-l'Autize in Poitou-Charentes and Gers in Midi Pyrenees.

Whole thing is looking a lot cheaper than I expected so am feeling enthused!
