Hi - do you know if there is anyway to watch ITV programmes on ITV player if you are not living in the UK? I tried to watch something and is said the video was not available to watch in my region ( Hong Kong) Downton Abbey starts tonight and I am desperate to watch it!

Thanks.

We have StrongVPN and it works brilliantly. One account and my iMac, all our iPads/phones and the PS3 are linked to it.

I use HideMyAss.com Pro VPN... Costs us the equivalent of 4GBP per month, paying for 12 months at a time. Works great! :)

I would recommend a service called SmartDNS, provided by a company called OverPlay. I've been using them for several years: www.overplay.net/#a_aid=OVRPLY

SmartDNS is a new way of accessing tv and video streaming websites that are usually geographically blocked to anyone trying to watch from outside the country. SmartDNS replicates many of the traditional VPN features, but without ANY loss

of speed. It permits access to restricted websites in different Countries. The best part is that with SmartDNS, you don't even need to dial into a VPN connection. The initial setup is super easy, and then you just browse as normal... but

without the limits.

SmartDNS enables virtually every streaming service you can imagine, and the servers are as fast as your internet connection.

It's $4.95 per month, or if you pay annually, it's $49.95, and you can cancel anytime.

I'd recommend Unblock Us: www.unblock-us.com/35771.html

It's faster than a VPN, and there's no software to install. Just follow the instructions on their website to make a small change to the DNS settings on your computer or whatever device you will be watching on, and that's it.

They offer a 7-day free trial with the simplest of sign-ups, just put in your email address. Once your free trial expires, then you can decide to pay $4.99 a month.

I've tried/paid several providers, and I can say that Unblock Us offers the fastest streaming connection of them all.

I use Hotspot Shield, means I can watch itv player, bbd inlayer, 4od etc as well as actually use my Netflix subscription. Can also change the settings to USA, australia etc so can access US netflix too Grin

fairly reasonably priced as well IIRC

Massive thanks!
Last week in France got hooked on a reality TV show called 4 mariages for a honeymoon, where contestants got to each others weddings, mark them on various details - unbelievably bitchy - very addictive.
Couldn't get to see the finale, and was blocked when tried to get on replay - used the unblock-us recommended on here this afternoon, and watched it - thanks!!!

Get the Tunnelbear VPN (there's an app) and it will work a treat.

I prefer using VPN service it is better than proxies. Check this VPN provider www.vpnfaqs.com/2015/03/using-vpn-to-unblock-itv-outside-uk/ it has UK server to be able to unblock UK web content while outside freely and without any restrictions.

I've been using IPVanish for over a year now (bit.ly/ipvanishvpn). It streams beautifully ITV player, BBC iPlayer, 4OD, Netflix, and every other global streaming service out there.
Also, it is a very reliable service if you are also looking to protect your privacy by encrypting all of your internet traffic.

We pinged our router then installed Astrill on it. It cost $150, but has been brilliant so far. Normally the net gets really slow with a VPN on, but with Astrill we can stream live TV with no buffering.
We've tried Expat shield, but it wasn't very good, even after we subscribed. My private network was better, but not as good as Astrill.

You can access all the British TV apps when you are on holiday if you install a VPN on your device which is easy enough. I was using www.bbciplayer.eu which seemed to work fine.

expressvpn is excellent and costs about USD80 per year. If there are ever connection problems, there is a loive chat service who sort them out quick smart. TBH, hardly ever have problems though.

If you recommend friends and they take up the subscription, you each get a free month's service.

IME, the free or inexpensive ones give you what you pay for = usually pretty rubbish.

We use tunnelbear. VPN makes it look as if you are in UK. Works a dream and is around $3 a month. Download app onto iPhone/pad/mac.
