Singapore - views on One Amber on the East Coast?

So DH has been in Singapore a few weeks now and has started looking around at areas/schools/condo complexes. He likes the look of the East Coast Park area, and we are aiming for CIS, Eton House or Chatsworth East.

He liked the look of One Amber just across from CIS. Anyone know it? If you have any first-hand knowledge you could share, that would be fab.

thank you!

Its a fairly good layout, not too huge, premium location for the east coast and not directly overlooking the ECP.
I'd say good choice.

Thanks laptop. I'm not going out for a visit before I move lock stock and barrel with the DDs in October, so although I'm leaving it to DH and trusting he will make a good choice, the control freak in me is raising its head :)

Honestly its a very good choice in that area. I was a property agent in sg and i can hnestly say its one of the best of the crop in the fort road/ mountbatten area.
If you want any other advice jst shout and will try and figure it out.

Thanks harpy! Right now we are stressing over schools. DH needs to go and see them but is really busy at work and some of them have been closed for holidays I gather. He is not on an expat package as such, so school feels etc are all down to us. We can't afford to put her down on too many waiting lists as the deposit on registration is non-refundable, so we need to put all our eggs in one basket with one school and keep our fingers crossed a place comes up.

DD1 is very birght and sociable and loves school, so I don't think either of us would enjoy home schooling for too long! I'm hoping it will all become a bit clearer once DH visits the schools we are considering and gets a feel for the likelihood of places for January.....I feel a bit impotent at this end Sad

Sorry i missed this bit on other threads, but how old is your DD?
I would concentrate my efforts on CIS and Eaton.
If she very lttle she can do pre-rec/reception & year 1 at most pre-schools and fees are usually a bit cheaper.
White lodge is another good one.

DD1 is 6 at the start of September, going in to Year 1 in the UK, and DD2 was 3 in April.
DH just emailed to say that he has an appointment to go to Eton House Friday week - first time they could do -and they seemed very positive about a place starting in January.

Am hoping to find a free/cheap kindergarten/preschool for DD2 as we can't afford fees for both of them right now.

Hi
My husband currently works in singapore, one month there then one month home (we live in scotland) he has just moved out of One Amber Gardens after 3 yrs of being there, (not thru choice, company decidion) he LOVED it and me and our daughter spent 5 wks there last summer and luved it too. His work colleagues son currently attends CIS, if you want any more info give me a shout

Thanks Audrey. DH is seeing CIS this Friday. He is seeing Eton House also, but we're not as keen. I like the idea of being able to walk DD1 to school and Eton house would be too far for that.

If I have any questions I will fire them your way!
