My husband wants to move back to Sydney. We're thinking of living in Paddington, sending the children to state junior school and then private for senior. Does anyone have any top tips about which school? We are looking at schools for boys and girls.

Arfishy - how are you finding Ascham and what made you choose it over, say, Kambala and other schools? I am pregnant with DC1 (a girl) in London but we will be moving to Sydney Eastern Subs at some stage in the future. I just sent off for application forms for Ascham

Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply to this! Ascham is a great school and we are really happy with it. I chose Ascham over Kambala as at the time Kambala had just started a huge building program and a number of the facilities weren't there. This wouldn't be a problem for you now I don't think.

Well done for applying for the wait list now - the waiting list has gone crazy apparently and a number of girls on the list for year 7 entry are now being told that there are no places after years of waiting.

The new head starts in January, Dr Helen Wright, former head of St Mary's Calne and I'm looking forward to seeing if she adds a more British influence to the school.
