Serviced Apartments in Hong Kong - any recommendations please?

Hi,

We are moving to HK in September and I need to find serviced apartments for a month or 2 whilst we find somewhere to live. Any suggestions where would be a good place to start off? I have 2 four year old girls so ideally somewhere where we will meet lots of other expats with young children and has a pool etc.

Someone has already suggested Park View to me - anyone stayed there before?

Many thanks for your help!

My cousin, his wife and kids just moved to HK a month ago and they have been staying in the Park View while apartment hunting and are having a great time there. They say there are lots of expats with kids there and loads of activities - kind of like being on holiday.

Good luck with your move, HK sounds like a great place!

Hi,

We lived in HK for 3 months a few years ago. I would recommend Happy Valley its great for kids loads of expats families with young children. The apartments we stayed in is called The Ellipsis www.ellipsis.com.hk/key.html
It has a pool and overlooks the race course and is a stones throw from a lovely playground, shops, the tram.
There are loads of playgroups near by too.

I made contact with mums before we went out on and xpats website and met up with them when we got there. I made some lovely friends.

Hope this helps.

Parkview is ideal in the summer as it has a resort like feel with a big tropical pool and gardens and it feels quite bucolic as its in the mountains, overlooks the southern beaches and yet only 10-15mn into town.

The Repulse bay is equally nice in the summer as its opposite the beach.
That's about 20mn back into town for work.

Both very popular with expats. Both have full facilities for sports, playrooms and an expat supermarket on site.
Both also have pre-schools that will have weekly summer programs to entertain them if you need time to do house hunting.

Lots of other options, but if you have the budget, look no further.

Yup- I dont think you'll do better than Park View with kids. The only thing is that it is slightly set out on it's own- i.e. it's not really part of a defined neighbourhood but as it has so many facilities on site, that wont really be an issue.

The Repulse bay is also very nice.

Thanks for your responses- I will have a look at those 3.

Ditto ParkView or Repulse Bay - if I had to chose one or the other I would prefer Repulse Bay, just because it's on the coast, but I think either would be great. Sorry don't know the happy valley suggestion. We stayed in Pacific Place and really regretted not going for either Park View or Repulse Bay.
When you know your date that you're coming get in touch back on MN and I'm sure those of us who are around would be very happy to meet for coffee etc!!

Mummy You got off lightly- we got Shama Central on Peel Street Grin. Mind you, we didn't have kids then so being in the heart of Soho had its advantages.

DH arrived here 5 months before us and stayed all this time on top of Dragon-I.
I was not too impressed first time I visited Shock
