Slings for hot weather

i am expected dc2 in June, and currently live in Egypt ( not, but no humidity) I want to carry her in a sling, but am concerned about the weather and just being sweaty all the time. With dd1 I used a baby bjorn and a ring sling , but was in Canada, so no problem. This time, I was planning on using a ring sling and an Ergo. We are planning on moving to Thailand next year where it will be hot and humid.
Any suggestions for what to get, to last for the next year or two. what has you found the most comfortable in the heat? Cheers!

I live in Thailand and used a Mei Tai and Ergo with my DD (now 2.5 yrs). I'm about to have DC2 and plan on using Moby wrap, then Ergo. Many of my friends use a Moby at first then an ergo or similar. Babies do get hot and sticky (my daughter always has sweated a lot and still does, but it doesn't seem to bother her) but if it's really hot, we're not outside a lot. Unless you have a car, they are invaluable for dealing with getting around in a buggy unfriendly place!

If you're going to be in Bangkok, most places are air conditioned (shops, cafes, skytrain) so you can always duck inside somewhere for some cool air.

Not sure if that helps at all, but hope you find the right sling for you!

I'm in Hong Kong and used the ergo. This, the Bbay Bjorn and the baba sling are the 3 most popular here

They do still get sweaty in them, but I just dont keep them out for long periods of time tbh

I had DS here on a tropical island and found woven wraps better than the Ergo as the infant insert is very hot.

We started with a Calin bleu gauze and now mostly use a Didymos linen blend like Agave or Jim Salvia.

I wouldn't recommend a Baby Bjorn as they're not great for your back or baby's hips.

Ringsling is a good choice. Try to get one made from a woven wrap if you can as it'll be more supportive.

Oh and we're hot, humid and in and out of aircon.

Thanks - and sorry for all my typos! I was actually more worried about me sweating than dc. I was in Indonesia when dd was 4-6 months old and remember sweating with the baby bjorn. I hope an ergo is better.

I was just given a linen ring sling and a summer wrap sling, so hopefully They will last me for a bit.

I shd add that I didnt use the ergo till DS was around 6mo so I cant comment on the infant insert.

the wrap and tie and fling behind your back and over your shoulder and knot like macrame style slings I found very warm (I live in So California so not as hot as Egypt, but warm none the less).

In summer I preferred a regular cotton ring sling by far. You can get mesh ones but they are often poly or synthetic mesh.

When I lived in a hot place, I had a mesh sling. I think it came form the Active Pregnancy Centre in the UK.

It was great for dipping into the pool with DD, and it could also fit into my pocket or bag without adding a lot of bulk.

Love the connecta. Used it here in the uk, travelling in Europe and recently in Singapore.
