Hi,
I would like DD1 (7.0, year 2) to write a bit more independently. I try to get her to write to MIL, but she is not very enthused, and basically doesn't know what to say so it ends more like being a dictation.
She is at an international school and they are not great at independent writing so young, I am scared that she will be behind when she comes back in the UK.

Anybody has a a DC around the same age who would like to write to her and to receive letters from eastern europe?

I think she is a bit naive compared to most children in the UK that is why I post here, but she has a loads of interests sciences, geography, princesses, bakugan, snow, outdoors...

Her playschool friends in the UK were a bit older so already in Y3 and miles ahead in writing.

Or is that a stupid idea?
TIA

I have a 6 year old dd who may be interested - she has lots of questions, I will PM you. We live in Germany and she has only been at school since September, but did a bit of reading and writing in English before she started.

I have a 7 (nearly 8yo) in year 2. She would be very interested. Her written french is better than her English so I am trying to encourage this side.

I have a 7 year old DD in year 2 who loves writing. Her written English is pretty good but probably not as advanced as most 7 year olds in the UK (we're in Austria) and I'm trying to encourage her to write as much English as possible. She writes to my parents, but it would be great for her to have a penpal her age who she could write to in English.

Portofino Linzertorte I think your daughters are more advanced than mine.
But feel free to use the thread to find someone else.

Although, portofino my DD 3rd language is french so they might make the same mistakes when misspelling and be a bit easier to understand.

Her last free writing at school was: "Alike and Different. won hawose is rouf triangol. and the ada hawose flat."

At home it is a bit better, because she remembers the capitals and the verbs and that one is not won.
