Australia - whooping cough advice

Hi all,
What is the position on adults who may come into contact with very young babies in terms of whooping cough protection / vaccination? I have read that the 'cocooning' strategy is recommended where other adults in the household get vaccinated. Does anyone know how this actually works? Plus how would it work if the adults aren't Australians? Sorry it's a complicated situation. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

If you have specific risk factors, you need to see a HCP for tailored advice.

If the adults are not immunised, then they can have the jab (Tdap), which is a type of immunisation that does not cause the disease would not present an onwards risk.

Thanks Edith. Some adults in this group have chronic conditions (which might I guess count as risk factors?) others are elderly. Some have already been immunised, but from what I've been reading the protection declines considerably after 6-12 years so another might be needed.
