Yes, and John Lewis.

You newbie expats, you don't know you're living. I went through YEARS of no M&S and JL.

Benelux wimmins - I cannot recommend the Dunkirk-Dover DFDS ferry enough. Return for around 50 quid and then "fill yer boots" at the Tesco 3 miles up the road. We can easily make this journey pay for itself.

As MmeLindor says, all these delivery options are wonderful compared to the shite of Stonemanor - but with Tesco, I WANT their 3-for-2 on fancy sausages, I want Wensleydale, I want their "6 quid for an indian takeaway deal" etc., etc.

imnobody · 17/10/2011 14:43

Bugger I got excited for a minute but then I was shook back to reality when I saw that Greece isn't included. Sigh. Angry

DelGirl · 17/10/2011 14:47

salivates at thought of indian take-away Sad

DelGirl · 17/10/2011 14:49

Am I right in thinking that the delivery cost is the same however much you order?

btw, not close enough for a hop back sadly otherwise I would!

Putrifyno · 17/10/2011 14:52

I am wanting sausages now! Anyone in Belgium fancy sharing the travel costs to Dover to splurge in Tesco's one weekend?

DelGirl · 17/10/2011 14:56

lol Grin no, have descovered fab sausages at local butchers

ORDER BY 19TH OCT AND RECEIVE £10 EVOUCHER AT JOHN LEWIS WHEN YOU SPEND £50 OR MORE NO CODE NEEDED

AlpinePony · 17/10/2011 15:42

Haha we should do a Mumsnet x-channel Tesco trip. I will phone de lijn in the morning and see if I can rent a bus.

All together now, "we're all going on a sausage holiday, no more caerphilly for a month or two".

DelGirl · 17/10/2011 16:20
Grin
Putrifyno · 17/10/2011 20:41

Grin Count me in for the Sausage Express!

natation · 17/10/2011 21:24

Ask my husband to drive you and he will get the ticket to Dover for free, not sure I should admit who would be paying. He is free around 11-13 november. I'm sure I could persuade him to go because I am still in dire need of an Indian takeaway too. We only have a Touran though.

Surely Alpine Pony should be residing in the Alps? Where are you?

Putrifyno · 17/10/2011 21:37

You have to be careful here, natation! He might suddenly be inundated with expat women after sausages! Wink

Putrifyno · 17/10/2011 21:39

I am liking the Indian Takeaway idea even more....

natation · 17/10/2011 21:50

Norfolkline Dunkerque - Dover is a great route, but for a day trip, we usually use Eurotunnel - cost is usually 50 to 60 euro return and since Her Majesty and her subjects would be paying for the crossing, only the diesel will cost around 25 euro. So who is interested? The car has 7 places but you wouldn't fit many Indian takeaways in the boot, 5 would be better. I'd drive but not sure anyone would be sane after 2 hours of my driving, hubby is far safer, if you don't mind his inane non stop chatter.

Putrifyno · 17/10/2011 22:05

I'm up for it! I would be equally willing to take my car, but I have a Seat Ibiza, so that makes for limited participants or limited shopping......

MrsDreadfullyMorbidMausoleum · 17/10/2011 22:25

Doesn't include Australia Sad

Eralc · 18/10/2011 06:06

No Australia - waaaa! Have just tortured myself by looking at how cheap the kids clothes are though - I'd forgotten just how expensive they are here!

hauntedstateofmind · 18/10/2011 06:41

Singapore Sad not on list. No M&S delivery here either. Goodness knows we need some reasonably priced, good quality clothes and bras here in bigger sizes. Not everyone is a size 10 especially me.

There are M&S stores in Singapore but everything is double the price of the UK and only a very small part of the normal range is stocked.

fraktious · 18/10/2011 07:10
MmeLindor. · 18/10/2011 07:19

Oh, what have I started? An expat MN invasion.

:( for those not included in delivery plans. Maybe they will expand when they see how successful it is in Europe.

Stonemanor has Waitrose essentials now though, and the frozen stuff is Waitrose as well (ds recommends the pies!). We just need the Waitrose yoghurts and life will be blissful.

Went to Sainsbury at the weekend when in UK for ds's sixth form interview, and had been when back for fils funeral. Freezer packed with sausages, cheese, wraps, crumpets, muffins, and lurpak. The garage floor is littered with tins of baked beans and tuna.

scaryteacher · 18/10/2011 09:23

.....and for those of you with cats - Amazon deliver trays of Sheba to Belgium - free delivery, 45p per foil tray; that's 51 cents a tray, which is cheaper than the 65 cents in Colryut and Carrefour.

scaryteacher · 18/10/2011 09:31

Alpine - book it in euros and it can be cheaper. We got a return for 39 euros travelling last week.

Francagoestohollywood · 18/10/2011 09:38

Sorry, just for the sake of Knowledge, why would anyone want to shop in Tesco when European supermarkets are much better?
