Hotels/Areas in Dubai to stay in for up to 3 weeks with a 4-6 week old baby

Hi, I originally posted this in travel but it was suggested that I repost in this topic for the attention of people who live Dubai.

Found out that my DH will most likely have to go to Dubai for work, possibly for up to three weeks at the end of October. I am currently 39+3 weeks pregnant so when he goes our baby will still be quite young.

I'm debating whether or not to go with him but wondered if anyone had any experience of travelling with a young baby and staying in a hotel. Is it practical so soon after birth? (He would be between 4 and 6 weeks old) Am I deluding myself and should I just stay at home? I would rather go with him and he would rather I came with him too.

What do you think? Any advice would be great.

Deira will be fine, and easy to get a cab to JBR, Dubai Mall etc to get you out, have a walk about and a coffee

I used to actually go running in the Dubai Mall- early in the morning before the shops opened. It really is that big. Apparently that's banned now though.

I've arrived!! Airline managed to break our pram but we've managed to semi fix it for the time being.

Went to the Diera City Centre Mall today, and then realised I've already been there! Went to Carrefore to get some shopping and managed to get most of what we need but no cartons of ready made milk for babies. Do they sell it anywhere? I'm having a bit of a stress as I didn't bring enough with me to cart around when I'm out and about and the flask we've bought is no good and doesn't do up properly.

Think I might have to keep the cartons I've got left for the flight home if I can't find anymore. Annoying.

Thanks everyone for your help and if there is anyone else apart from barbie1 who fancies a meet up, let me know, I'm going to have a lot of time on my hands!!

TheBride I meant to ask, what is JBR and where is Dubai Mall?

Dubai Mall is in Old Town, which isn't old, but is built like a Souk, hence the name. It's quite pleasant/pedestrianised. It's right where the Burj Dubai (or whatever it got renamed- tallest building) is. All taxi drivers will know "Dubai Mall"- fear not. It's got an aquarium. You have to pay to actually go in but you can see most of it

JBR is Jumeriah Beach Residences. It's a residential development close to the Marina, but it's got a long walkway/promenade in front of the towers which is nice for a stroll, and has all the usual cafes/coffee shops etc.

Baby Milk cartons- try Waitrose in the Dubai Mall (best bet), Boots or Carrefour at Mall of the Emirates.

Welcome to the sand pit! No pm, try sending it again. I will pick up a few milk cartons if I see any...just yell if there is anything else you need. Oh and I have the entertainer book which is a book full of buy one get one free on lots of cafe, fast food and tourist things...including the aquarium in the mall. I'll bring it with me and you can take anything you might fancy doing x
