Preschools in Paris

Hi, I am a mom of two, who is planning to move to Paris in the summer. My older one is 3.5, and currently going to a preschool in America. She will be 4 by the time we move there, and she will be Pre-K in American terms. I am looking for a preschool in Paris, and to be honest, I am bit overwhelmed and confused... Help!!

These are the schools I found..

  1. Bilingual Montessori School
  2. EaB
3.EabJM 4.Eurecole

We are planning on staying for a year or two, and we want her to be in a warm and welcoming atmosphere where both languages are spoken. I want her to learn French naturally without being stressed. She is rather a shy kid and we've been working on building her self-esteem.

  • Another question: Any idea why EaB is so much more expensive than EabJM?

How late can you enroll DD turns 4 in April but we may not get final details as to when we arrive in the 78 for a month or so. Will she get a place?

Enrol where? The applications cycles are different for different private schools and different communes for public school.

If you're out in Yvelines I guess you're not looking at central Paris schools?

LOL well i wouldnt say im rich, id say i work damn hard to provide the best education possible for my kids, if i didnt spend so much on them im sure id end up rich hehe.
Just an update for people in same boat as me, i have found a psyc, charges 280 per child so im going ahead with testing. If they get in excellent if they dont at least ille know where they are educationally. Youngest childs teacher commented other day that she is the most intelligent girl shes taught, gives me some hope. But am keeping my options open aswell. Will let you all know the outcome as soon as i know. x

Ret204: if you are out in the Yvelines and you want your kids to go to public school you go to the mairie and enrol them and they will tell you where there is space. Might not be your closest school, however, but will be where they have a space. (We moved mid-year but were fortunate in that there was space in the local one). Can't talk for private schools but there's a whole slew of different ones in the Yvelines. If you know where you are going to be I could suggest some if you are interested.

Hi everyone. I missed the Eurecole feedback and am considering this school for PS. Please can someone let me know what the complaints about the school have been? That would be very helpful! Thank you!

Hi everyone,

could you please share your concerns about Eurecole? We're considering the PS Maternelle there and I'm getting quite anxious whether it's the right choice. Thanks in advance!!!!
