Luckily, we had foresight to source a second hand hospital bed last year that I can navigate. I'd fallen out of the big bed a few times leading to further breaks and hospital stays. I find it quite comfy and also lucky I'm in separate room because one of the most horrible side effects is my smell. Husband claims he can't notice. But I can. Anyone else experienced this? I hate the idea of basically, rotting from the inside but have vile night sweats and emit horrible sweet, sickly odour. I use scent free soap and Sanex and get into the shower at least once a day but I can already smell it seeping out through my scalp and it drives me bonkers! I've always been scrupulous re hygiene and it really gets me down. I also change bedding including actual Duvet at least once a week sometimes more because I'll sweat through it. I won't cover in scent. Drs have been great re pain management but something I haven't raised. I try to eat 'normal' (am vegetarian) and remain hydrated.

Oh gosh @MrsCatE I know exactly what you’re describing ❤️ At the height of my illness first time round I was leaking protein & fluid through my thighs (Amongst other areas of my body), & I knew I smelt a ‘bit off’.
The one definite piece of advice I can give is you don’t smell near enough as bad as you think ❤️ Good hygiene will help keep on top of this, along with the knowledge that it’s not as bad as you think ❤️ As they say, time is a great healer in this instance ❤️

Sorry you going through this and yes. If you feel you smell unpleasant its just another thing to add to the list. My bedroom smells of body onion in the morning. Ive been using anti odor persimmon soap and it works on my menopausal vagina smell. You can get it from amazon. It's just an idea if you feel other things arnt working. You can also buy electric odor neutraliser/air puifier for the room. Ikea does one. But not used one. But going to in the new year

But when our own smell changes we do notice it. Doesn't mean others do. So give yourself a break. You have enough to deal with. X

Have you tried the Loom products? They are supposed to be good for neutralizing smells. The only downside is their initial smell is a bit odd.
