Endometriosis, hysterectomy and symptom relief

Hi, I suffer with several debilerating symptoms and will be having a hystetectomy after the baby situation has been decided.
Can anyone give advice on if they felt a significant improvment after a hysterectomy with endo? Joint issues, tiredness/weakness, brainfog?
I dont want to have a major surgery if there is a chance this is the way its left me permanently.
(Stage 4 endo, inoperable)
Many thanks

Hi OP. I am in exactly the same position. I have stage 4 endo. Noodles about 5cm attached to my rectum and womb. Been referred to a specialist down south (north east girl) as it’s attached to my sphincter muscles and if touched will permanently damage and need a stoma. They want to start me on prostap, and tibolone - as like you I’m so scared of the side effects, but also, don’t want to have major surgery if there’s anything else I can do. I researched so much and started a gluten dairy free diet which was recommended to ease symptoms. Have to admit I doubted it but has helped somewhat (a little). I’m 37 years old and the thought of having a total hysterectomy (with all the potential future complications is terrifying). But I’m also in agony 3/4 weeks.

how are you doing now OP?

Also… Anyone on here had anything similar or took the prostap and tibolone to help with endo. Or had a similar experience. Many thanks

Unfortunately, a hysterectomy will not cure endometriosis. It will only resolve adenomyosis.

I have cut alot of gluten out of my diet too and noticed a huge difference with pain with my periods. I went on Zolodex for 3 months but apart from eventually pausing my period it didn't really help me. Had a very bad withdrawal from it but I don't believe this is too common. What future complications can hysterectomy cause? Are you trying to have children? Thank you
