Hi there
My nanny is 90 years old and she has been declining in health for the last few months at quite a quick rate
She's the most amazing woman a true force who survived and thrived during many really difficult experiences. I think she is amazing.
She has a problem where here haemoglobin is dropping to 6 or something ridiculous like that, she is having blood transfusions a few times a week but she can't have too many because if her blood gets too thick I've been explained about a stroke and also stents in her heart suffering
She's at home in bed with my dad right now just sort of holding hands. She also has her other children constantly with her. I just saw her and she has lesions on her face and I got a really horrible shock.
Why would she have these? Does this mean she could be at the very end of her life? I don't know why she has lesions and I don't want to ask really.
I can't bring myself to go and see her in this situation, she lives abroad and I've got three children
I'm also worrying that actually she wouldn't survive long enough for me to get there
She didn't want to sit on the balcony in the sun and my family haven't given me a lot of information although I haven't asked either As I don't know what to say
Can the lesions be just because she's really poorly? After you get to the point where you lay in bed holding hands with your children and not wanting to go out or eat at all, do you come back from that to a better place? Or is that it now?
I'm so so so sad. I feel horrible for not being there for her. I have three children and it's really difficult for me to leave them but also I'm frightened to see her like this
I'm sorry if this post is offensive I just don't know how to word it and I want to try to understand what it means that she is in bed watching the pope on tv for blessings not eating and her face has at least 8 or 9 lesions I could count including on her forehead
She's such a special woman
