I lost Mum on 22nd May. Despite us knowing in February that this would be the inevitable outcome, it was still a shock to us when she deteriorated so quickly from Friday 20th. We all thought she would have the summer with us. Although her medics didn't give any time frame, it came as a shock to them too. Her GP almost didn't create the just in case medications a few days earlier, until my husband asked him to because he was there, with the car, so could run around and collect them.

We managed to care for her at home, which was her wish, with fantastic help from my sister in law and the district nurses calling to administer medication.

I've arranged the funeral, which is tomorrow, and thought I was ready. Today though, I've woken not wanting it to happen and I've 24 hours to get my head around the fact it really is.

I've so much to live for, and Mum would want to me to smile - I just need to get to that place.

Hi Kezzie, I hope you found strength to get through the funeral. You might get more responses if you post this in Bereavement, or join one of the threads there 💐
