My ex MIL is starting chemo & I would like to get her a soft, comfy (stylish if poss) headscarf/cover. Are there any recommendations?

No personal recommendations but there are a wide variety on Etsy if you search chemo headwear.
You might get some knowledgeable replies in the General Health topic.
One consideration is whether your ex MIL will lose her hair and choose to wear a wig, I don't know but I imagine a headscarf might be more comfortable. Hope you find one in a pattern she'll like.

I bought a lovely cashmere hat from Brora for a friend. Very soft on the skin.

Yes, I had to shave my head for brain surgery (that didn't end up happening, but the shaving did, if that makes sense) and I found really lovely cotton hats on Etsy, eBay and amazon. Sort of 1920s/ 1930s cotton hats, very comfortable - in a huge range of colors so you can find ones that will suit her / her clothes etc.I think they're called chemo hats which is unfortunate but it doesn't matter if she likes them.

They do bamboo sleep hats for chemo. I lived in them as my bald head was very cold!
You can also get turban style soft cotton/bamboo hats. You do need chemo specific ones as most hats stop before the neck, but with no hair you need full head coverage.
Amazon is good for them if you don't have a local cancer care hair shop.
I was given a lot of scarves but I could never get the hang of tying then properly so mainly wore hats and sometimes a wig.

My daughter had chemo and loved bold beanies hats - they come in really pretty Liberty patterns and were so soft. Made by a lady who had breast cancer herself

Contact head wrappers . They are a wonderful charity that host online tutorials on how to tie scarves. When you contact them they send out a little care package with a beanie, headband and two types of scarves. They really are a wonderful group . Lots of advise and links to various headwear . Good luck to your MIL .

Depends on the stage of hair loss. To start with I was creative with a silk scarf to hide bald patches and shield from sun. At the peak of hair loss my scalp was extremely painful to the touch (like stinging nettles). On a brief respite from that I got what was left shaved off. Still super sensitive for a couple of weeks but could then go mad with hats and wigs. Wig liners help at first.
