Just want to chat and say hello to other people who have congenital heart disease (not just Fallots)! and how it has affected your life or what it's not stopped you from doing. I'm 36 with a toddler who's had open heart surgery twice.

I've got some words of encouragement for you!

My DH was born with Fallots and had two repairs as a child, at age 5 and 10. He then had surgeries to replace two of his valves as an adult. But he is now in his early 60's, and by and large, leads a normal life. He works full time and is a proud parent/grandparent.

His Fallot corrections were in the 1960's when open heart surgery was nowhere near as developed as it is now. It's amazing, it really is.

He does suffer with abnormal heart rhythms and this causes us problems from time to time. He does drive, but can't do any heavy lifting. He hasn't run anywhere ever in his entire life as he gets out of breath quickly!

I realise we have been been extremely fortunate. I hope your toddler is too.

Aw so nice to hear this. My daughter got the all clear during my pregnancy so she's a healthy wee thing who is non stop 😂. I wish your dad all the best. I'm no athlete but do try to keep fit. Definitely won't be running any marathons 😝x
