I get my Huntington’s disease results tomorrow at 10:30am and I can’t sleep. I never thought I’d be this nervous even though in my heart I know what it’s going to say. My Dsis found her results a couple of months back and it came back clear, which was/is amazing.
I don’t know why I’m posting this really.

I don't know much about HD but hoping everything is ok for you tomorrow.

thewalkers · 10/12/2018 23:54

I hope you have the same results as your Dsis. Also hope you have some support with you when you get your results.

MnerXX · 10/12/2018 23:58

I got my results over 10 yrs ago now. I have the gene but non symptomatic.

Whatever the results, take your time to process them and make sure you have as much support as possible. Also when you are ready, make plans for something good to do to distract you eg the cinema, or a film on tv.

Best of luck tomorrow

Another one wishing you all best, fingers crossed it’ll be negative.

HD in my family also

Big hugs. Hoping it's clear 🙏

My friend was clear as was her 3 siblings 🙏

Not clear I’m afraid. I knew I had it deep down. I just hope my DBro and other Dsis don’t have it now

@Youvegotafriendinme I'm so sorry. I believe in medical science (my DD has had groundbreaking heart surgery). Be kind to yourself. Do they offer counselling? 💐

Horsemad · 11/12/2018 17:50

Sorry OP, if counselling is offered then do look into taking up the offer.

Hiphopopotamous · 11/12/2018 17:51

@Youvegotafriendinme
Do you have children?

MnerXX · 11/12/2018 19:36

Do whatever you feel is right for you. Go straight back to work if you need a distraction or curl up into a ball and cry for a week if that helps.

When you are ready and if you want to, there are ways of making positives out of it. My results have really made us think about our lives - we moved closer to family for help in the future, brought forward our wedding, booked some humoungous holidays, fundraising for the HDA, getting involved in research...

Take care
