Months to live, in your experience how long was this?

DH has found out his Mum has months to live. With all the other questions that came to mind to ask, he didn't clarify how long this could be. I know everyone is totally different, but if you don't mind me asking, how long did this mean for your loved ones.

I asked him what they meant my months and he now wished he'd asked, but it's hard to actually speak to the doctor. My gut tells me she won't get back 4/6 weeks, but I don't want to alarm him.

Ddad was told months in June and he heard (or wanted to hear) 'Months to a year'. We lost him 4 months later.

My friend was told months when she had brain cancer and she died 7 weeks later.

Sorry to hear about your DHs Mum OP Flowers

To be honest it is going to be best grabbing the bull by the horns and asking the Doctors involved with her care as it can vary wildly.

My uncle was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer at Christmas a couple of years ago. He was gone by the Spring. Sad
On the other hand a friend of DMs was diagnosed and given a few months and held on for a year.

Thinking of you all.
