DH has mri scan tomorrow to assess his (incurable) brain tumour, results thursday. everyone is stressed, 14 year old son is shouting and irritable and refusing to clear up after himself, 6 year old daughter screaming at top of her lungs about something, 11 year old plugged in to some game to escape it all. finding it hard to cope and I'm being a crap mum, shouting and moaning . life just seems so hard at times. want to hide under my duvet for a very long time.

Bless you. Lots of hugs. Brain tumours really, really suck. And all the waiting and the uncertainty are extremely draining. Be kind to yourself and each other.

You're not a crap mum at all. Can you all watch a film or something to detract attention? I'm sorry if that's a shit suggestion, I hope you get the best results you can hope for. X

How awful for you all. Do the children know about the MRI?

Flowers and the very best of luck.

Deal with the six year old and get her into bed, then tell the boys that you are all going to have a duvet night on the sofa and they can watch anything they like as long as it makes you all laugh.

Sounds incredibly tough for you OP. Seems to me like you are a great Mum trying to hold your family together through this Flowers

Another hug from here. I recognise your username from earlier posts. Your past experience of this horrible disease must make such a difficult time even harder. You are definitely not a crap mum.

Is he on any treatment at the moment? How is he doing? X

thanks all. things calmed down once my youngest settled. we all watched x factor and i had a good excuse to cry ! adam is doing well given he was given a predicted survival of 15 months, and he is now 27 months post diagnosis. just can't help wondering when our luck will run out. kids are aware of mri this week, but have to say they can be pretty hard work even when its not the run up to a scan! but normally i cope with it better

Have you got a Macmillan nurse you can speak to....ask about some support fr you and your family - sounds like everyone is stressed and upset and acting out their anxieties - hope you can speak to someone IRL too xx

Lu thinking of you...
My dh was diagnosed with a blood cancer almost 5 yrs ago..he had a shed load of treatment (there is no cure) to put him in remission. I remember how stressful it was and thinking I just wanted to run away at times, trying to juggle caring for him and the kids. We've just been told yesterday that his cancer is back again...
Just remember that it's the illness that is crap, but we're brilliant mums, no matter how stressed we feel.
Take care xx
