Just a quick question, DP diagnosed 3 months ago with stomach cancer, 4cm tumour, mets to upper and lower lymphs, classed as stage 4, inoperable. 2 months into chemo, after 1st round bloods are showing tumour markers have decreased from 228 to 54.....is this something to be getting excited about? or is this pretty normal?

Hi, it certainly sounds very good news to me. I have secondary breast cancer and have certain tumour markers taken when I'm on treatment. The Oncologist will look for a trend in markers, decreasing markers indicate a treatment is working and an upward trend usually means that particular treatment is no longer effective.
More info here,
