Gay DD's sleepover bed sharing dilemma

Our DD told us she was gay aged 11, in her first term at senior school. It was not a surprise to me, and her close family (that know) have all embraced her.
She has just turned 13, goes to an all girls school and the girls have occasional sleepovers. She is very mature and tall for her age, (5'8", Size 8 feet) and has recently started seeing one of the girls. Her girlfriend came here for a sleepover with 4 other girls in separate beds in our guest room. The girlfriend shared the double bed with her own twin sister, which I thought was a good solution.

One of her best friends from her old school is Bi. Previously, before DD came out, they have slept in two single beds in the same room, (one pulls out from under the other.) They have been asking to have a sleepover here for a while and I've been stalling on it because I am not sure how to handle it.

To complicate it further, I would like to replace DD's bed with a double because she is literally falling out of her single, but am worried about the implications of that for future sleepovers, (a lot of them do share double beds.)

I think the only option might be to make sure sleepovers are attended by a few girls, not just one other? But even then two girls will have to share the double bed.

I don't want to keep denying her sleepovers, but I also have a responsibility to the visiting girls (and their parents.)

Any advice on navigating this would be gratefully received.

At least you don't have to worry about her getting knocked up..

I see what you mean though, that must be pretty difficult to navigate. Maybe go through boundaries and how you'd expect her to behave? Like no funny business. Keep an open door policy? Is that too far?

Hi rm1234, thanks, yes I did have a chat with her about the earlier sleepover and how she wasn't to share her gf's bed and why. She was shocked I would think that! They only see each other at school, so it's still fairly innocent I think.

However door open after lights out unfortunately won't work because our bedroom is downstairs from the kids rooms.

Don't worry about this. I'm in the same sort of situation. As long as your daughter is talking to you it's fine.

Teens will do it wherever. If you’re not allowing it in your house they’ll be doing it down the park/swimming pool/ local car park.

I would hold fire on the double bed situation (I know men who are 6ft plus who sleep in a single just fine) as you don’t want anyone feeling uncomfortable about sleeping in the same bed as someone who’s attracted to the same gender.
