How to find someone I have a CCJ against.

I have a CCJ against an architect who was supposed to draw some plans for me and submit them for planning etc. He never completed the work, I took hime to the small claims court and won. I sent the baliff in and he had dissapeared from his work address. I do not have a home address for him. Have drawn a blank on the online electoral roll, doesn't appear to belong to a trade body, can't find him online anywhere, was not a ltd company so can't trace that way. He owes me just over £1,000, so I am desperate to track him down. Has anyone any ideas I haven't thought of. Thanks

Facebook? It should give you a location for him, then you can have a phone around the architects in that area.

Forgot to add that I had tried Facebook with no luck, thanks for replying

I don't think he is currently working, I get the impression from a couple of people I have spoken to that he has fleeced a few people recently, think he now has his head down hoping it will "blow over". I have also tried to find where is websites were registered to, however they were registered to the business address that he has vacated

electoral role?

curlywurlycremeegg · 01/07/2010 21:20

Thanks Five, I think the electoral roll is my last bet, I am dreading it as I thought it was alphabetical but it's steet by street so will have to plough all the way through the town I think he is in! I have checked online, however you can opt out if this one and the last time he was registered on the online version was 2003. Bah hours more work to try and get back what is rightfully mine, I can't believe there is no register for non limited companies, it just seems to make it so easy for someone to scam people and then disappear!

All professionals have a governing body where those individuals have to be registered to practice, ie. lawyers, architects, etc. In this case The Royal Institute of British Archiects. Could you contact them to see if you could trace him?

192.com lets you search by name - you might have to buy some credits first but I think it would cost less than £10.

Overtierd, thank, I haven't tried them, will give them a look up today.

Attenborough, that's where I found out he was on the online roll until 2003, then he moved and it looks like he has opted out of the online roll since then. It cost me just short of £10 to find that out!

I once found a tenant that had done a runner by ringing everyone in the phone book with his surname - in his town, not in the whole world, and saying 'hi, id Daniel in?' until somebody said no, this is his sister, he doesn't live here, or whatever she said. Anyway we found him.
