Trial separation....

Not sure whether this should be in Relationships or here
I was just wondering what you do if you want a trial separation from your husband but he won't leave?
I can't leave as I work from home as a childminder plus there's no way I'm leaving my 4 yr old and 11 month old!
Would I need to get a solicitor involved? How do I go about finding one?

Shameful bump as I need to be armed with info when I tell him once he wakes up....

CAB told me there was nothing I could do to get X to leave the house I paid for unless he was violent (which he wasn't). Will he consider mediation? (Designed to help you split up amicably not to get you back together).

Hi there Fruitbatlings!

Yes I'm afraid that unless he agrees to leave, the only way to 'order' him out is by way of a court order unless he breaches the peace in which case the police should remove him.

Boo hoo, do you think he is more likely to respond is a third party invites him to leave. i.e. something a little more official? If so, try a solicitors letter inviting him to leave. It need not be acrimonious.

Best regards

I just tried to call Relate (at least I can say i've tried!) but no evening or weekend appointments until the middle of April!
I just didn't want to have to get a solicitor involved. I wouldn't know where to start, do I just call a local solicitor? Seems like a really dumb question!
