STILL getting post for previous owners - they moved out 6 years ago...

at least 1-2 bits per week. mostly business stuff but addressed to mr so&so, as oppose to xx business IYSWIM.

am starting to think it a bit suss - but who do i tell? mostyl we bin it but do return some to sender saying "not known here" - doesn't seem to help.

we still have stuff for previous owner of our house (9 years ago) and even phonecalls sometimes, Ive no doubt that people in houses Ive lived in get post for me, most of its opportunistic crap using old names for the address.
For a while I put in back in post with not known at this address, now it just gets binned

Send everything back with 'Not at this address' on it. They will stop eventually.

When we moved into our house 2 years ago we had LOADS of post for the previous tenants, now we get virtually nothing.

Make sure there are no threatening letters about money etc. I believe this could affect your credit rating by association....

that's mainly what i'm worried about manfrom - i don't really mind what we get sent, or the fact we get theur post, but do worry that perhaps they are up to something dodgy. we get cheques from some kind of shares thing in america every so often for $100 + even after dh rang the states to try and sort it

you should always return it to the sender and never bin it.
the post belongs to the recipiant and not to you, so you could be prosecuted for binning it.

just pop it back into the post box with "return to sender not known at this address".

we used to get loads from a pension company with bank details and everything in - i rang them up - at first they thought i was trying to commit fraud as the prev owners had made recent payments apparently from our address - when i mentioned the fact that we had reason to believe the prev owners were actin fraudulently the insurance company took more notice and we don't get post from them any more...

this was in the past year as well...
