Under 18's bare trust account

Evening all. DD has a substantial sum in a Barclays children's saver account which is a bare trust with H as trustee, she is over 16 but the terms of the account are that it reverts to her at 18.

H has just spent 6 weeks on secure mh ward after trying to push me down stairs on top of many many years emotional and financial abuse.

He has told the ward whilst discussing discharge that he has this money (yes he has access as trustee but ownership is DD) and I am really worried, given decades of fa that he will withdraw her money, it's a standard Barclays children's saver account, bare trust, any ideas on how to protect her interests?

Awww bless thanks for the condescending comment but unfortunately their lines shut at 8pm, so I have planned to phone but they are, quite rightly taking some down time, I have a diary entry for tomorrow am

Post still stands. Speak to Barclays

Bare trusts can be spent for the benefit of the beneficiaries. Trustees would have to demonstrate that.

Is your H the only trustee? Who opened/ set up the trust?

Speak to the bank in the morning.
