Party company cut booked two-hour package short despite signed contract

We’ve just had a party for my youngest that was booked 11-1, the contract actually stated packages are for a 2 hour party and had timings etc on there. It was signed and paid for but when they arrived said it was an old contract and were only staying an hour an half.

I said I wasn’t happy but left it there as all the children arrived and wanted to enjoy the party. Food was half an hour early which we stretched out but it was expensive for what the party was and wouldn’t probably gone with another company to get more time.

I sent a follow up email but they haven’t replied and just wondered if it’s unreasonable to leave a bad review or what else I can do.

I would absolutely complain, the contract you signed was for 2 hours, so they've ahort changed you by 25%!

If they made an error and sent you an old version of the contract or they have changed their packages and contract since you signed it, it doesn’t matter.l, that is their issue. If your contract is clear that you booked a 2 hour party then that is what they are contractually obligated to provide. If you post an online review keep it dispassionate and factual. You would be within your rights to ask for a partial refund but assuming that you had paid in full it would probably be hard to get that back, albeit no harm in asking.

Shortchanged by a quarter, ask for a quarter refund. If it's not forthcoming then it's completely reasonable to leave a 'caveat emptor' review for others in the future as regards how they handled the whole contract situation.

If there was a contract for 2 hours, that is what they were required to provide. They can't get out of it by saying that was an old contract. You are entitled to a partial refund and could take them to the small claims court to get one if necessary. A refund may not be as much as 25% as they are entitled to full payment for those aspects of the party they actually provided,

How did you pay? You could dispute the credit card charge if that's how you paid, but you will need to go through their complaints process first. I would be looking for a 25% discount at least. Possibly 50% as you were left with nothing for your guests for a quarter of the time which is pretty humiliating, really, it's not like you can pull in someone else to fill the gap.
