I bought goods over the phone with my credit card, from a local company.
( I did this as the website didnt have enough of the product, so I rang them and they confirmed the order for the amount I needed). I paid at the time of the order, receiving a call back the next day saying the goods were available for collection. This was mid week so I said I'd be down there on Saturday morning.
On arrival the store was shut with a notice on the door saying they had gone into liquidation.
I've logged chargeback with my credit card co and have sent in a copy of the invoice, emails and a photograph of the door notice.
The company still shows as active on companies house. Google maps shows all branches as permanently closed. There have been no social media or press articles about the company closure. Will the credit card co be able to verify this in my favour?
As the products were bathroom tiles I've had to buy elsewhere due to a contractor being booked. Really just need the money back! I am hoping the staff didn't take the payment knowing they were closing.
Is there anything else I can check? Or any other advice? Thanks.
