Wills - kit from WHSmith

Does anyone know how good these are? (See pic).

The kit is 30 quid; a bog-standard high street solicitor will is at least £300. Obviously I’d rather spend £300 on other things, but this really needs doing. I’ve put it off for a long while.

Any advice v much appreciated. X

If you have nothing much to leave to anyone, no pension or property and no dependents I guess it will be ok. Otherwise I would do it properly with a solicitor.

I have a (mortgaged) house 🏡 of relatively lowish value. But the mortgage is small so it’s not a million miles from being paid in off. Haven’t got much else.

its a straightforward will, I think. I’m widowed. No children.

Perhaps I could start with this and take it to a solicitor?

Has anyone else used one?

Sorry if this doesn't help you but I just found out that my Union offers free wills so if you are a member of a Union you might find the same.

Okay, thank you. I’m a member of UCU.

A lot of charities offer a free will service. Obviously they hope you will leave a contribution but you don't have to.
