Claim Struck Out by Court

As the title reads, my DH was due in court on 12th Jan over a private parking ticket acquired during a restaurant meal.

Civil Enforcement, who are the Claimant didn't pay the court fee or try to extend it. Deadline for payment was 15th Dec 2025.

So got a email yesterday with official letter saying the claim struck out. Great news!

But I'm still not settled. I've read the Claimant, who we've not heard from since September, can start it up again?

Does anyone have any experience like this please? Thanks x

I don't know why they didn't pay it. I'd like to know out of curiosity, because if think they can't win, I'd like the PCN to be off their system and a letter of discontinuation from them ideally, saying they aren't chasing the payment anymore.

Court will have struck out the claim of its own volition because the fee wasn’t paid. Claimant can apply for relief from sanctions and have it reinstated, but the cost of that exercise would outweigh the amount of a parking fine so I’d be surprised if they do so.
