Question about disbanding trusts or leaving them empty

My family have set up a trust for my kids. It is HMRC registered but there is no money transferred into it yet. The trust deed states how much money should go into it.

Family now want to disband the trust or leave it empty so they can use a different vehicle to pass on the money. (Probably another type of trust.) Are they obliged to transfer the money to the current trust, or can it be left empty/disbanded? Is there a straightforward answer or does it depend on the wording of the deed?

I know I need solicitor advice but I have spoken to three STEP solicitors who have reviewed the deed and they say opposing things. If anyone knows the answer then if there is also a source online that would be so helpful.

if The trust is set up by no assets then it seems cleaner to close it on TRust registration service link to closing a trust. I cannot see why you would leave it open. Why is there opposing views from the solicitors are they just after more fees perhaps.
