Solicitor Letter Addressed to Ex Hus

Context

Ex-Hus and I divorced in the summer and under the fFinance Order, I brought out my ex from the former marital home and am now the sole owner of the home.

My Ex and an immediate family member (outside of the Uk) have been involved in an ongoing financial dispute. Today a solicitors Claim letter (from a solicitors in the same county I live in) addressed to my ex was sent to my house. The family member is unaware of where my ex lives and different solicitors have been sent to my now home address and his business address over the past couple of years. Each time my ex has advised the solicitor that he doesn’t live at the address.

My question is do I need to contact the solicitor and inform them that my ex no longer resides at the home address and they need to remove the address from their records.

You dont need to do anything except put the letter back in the Post marked as a not known at this address but it would not be a bad idea if you want to stop getting letters etc.

The solicitor is unlikely to remove your address from their records but may note the returned letter.

They are getting paid to send letters under instruction of your Exs family member. It may be quicker for you to contact that individual directly or via sending a message to his family (if you are still in contact with anyone).

If there is a possibility that there would be a financial outcome to a court case I would check to make sure the transfer has been finalised and the Land Registry details are correct.
