Hi

my landlord has been trying to evict me for some time. She has filed a section 21, it’s 8 weeks has been up. She now is going for possession order and i don’t understand if she’ll succeed with a no fault with this new law that’s been passed? will it go through as normal until a implemention date has been released?

I’ve already been to court once so I know what I’m expecting next the defence papers the “court” date etc, she did it wrong. So we going back again.

I do want out and to temporarily live somewhere else with family possibly but I also need a bit of support from council and the private rent at the minute is extortionate where I am is the cheapest but so awful it’s unreal.

thank you so much x

Although the new law has been passed, a commencement date has not been set, so section 21 notices are still legitimate.

@HappiestSleeping is correct. Also, even when the commencement date is set, any Section 21 notices already issued will remain valid until the end of possession proceedings if those proceedings have already begun, and there will be a window within which landlords who have not started possession proceedings will be able to do so. Since your landlord has already started possession proceedings, this act will have no effect on your situation. The Section 21 notice remains valid.
