Dear All,
I am new to posting and wondered if anyone out there can help me?
Back in March this year after a very drawn out financial agreement culminating in a court order around divorce, I put my home on the market as directed in the court order. Long story short I had to accept well under the quoted price listed in the court proceedings. Anyway, having swollen that bitter pill I sort the advice of a mortgage broker.
I detailed with him the, what I assume to be, incomings and outgoings that I was asked for along with evidence. I was very specific about my financial worries around affordability and checked in with him, having paid his fee, on several occasions once I had identified a property I was interested in. He assured me on these occasions that, yes, I could afford this house and I made sure the monthly repayments were affordable too. I went ahead and employed solicitors to work on both the sale and purchase.
I understand that there is occasionally a fee discrepancy towards the point of exchange however my solicitors just last week, 3rd September, say I now have an outstanding feeling of £11495.00.
Of course this means having to go back and renegotiate my mortgage offer which I understand can take up to 2 weeks.
Has anyone any insight into whether this type of amount could have gone unchecked and if there is a fault who does it lie with?
Many thanks for reading.
