Cease and desist letter

I’m a freelancer who worked with a group of fellow freelancers with an artist. She is - we subsequently discovered - completely toxic. She has a track record on this, but has always cited her disabilities as a reason for doing this. She has harassed every single one of us, throughout the project and afterwards. All of us have experienced at least two incidents. Despite the impact on all our mental health, the police insist it’s a civil matter. Can we issue - individually - a cease and desist letter and does this need to go via a lawyer? Thanks!

Best get a solicitor to write it - you can all do it jointly if you wish.

What, exactly, do you want her to stop doing? And yes, you'll need a solicitor.

Yes you can issue a cease and desist and jointly sign it - but you need to go through a solicitor so that it can be appropriately worded, otherwise conversely you could be accused of harassment. You need to be abundantly clear as to what it is that you need her to stop doing - for example contacting any of you via any means - social media, phone - calls, texts - etc.

What exactly is she doing?
