Changing my will

I'm thinking of changing my will, no idea how to go about it but things are tricky as I'm now mostly bedridden. I can't get on MSE site even though I've got an account so can't ask advice on there. Any ideas please how I can change my will?

Contact your solicitor

I did mine recently though and online company. It wasn't expensive. I spoke to someone on the phone, they emailed me a copy to check then they posted me the original to be signed and witnessed.
I keep it in a fireproof folder I bought online.

Contact your solicitor

I don't have one. Just choose one randomly?

@Mumblechum here on Mumsnet did our wills remotely - she was great. Works as Marlow Wills.

Thank you 😊

Do you already have a will in place? If you want to change an existing one then contact the company first to enquire about altering it. A lot of companies will do house visits for people with mobility issues or serious illness.

Yes, from about ten years ago, but was organised by my partner then and I don't want him to know about this now.

Be wary of doing a will online! Many solicitors will do a home visit to prepare your will.

I agree with the recommendation for Marlow Wills above, did ours remotely, all v easy.

He doesn't need to know, if you have a copy with their contact details just call them, you can either have a new will or arrange a codicil which is cheaper if you still want to keep some of it the same. Many solicitors offer home visits now.

You need a solicitor, especially if you’re going to be making changes that could lead to a claim.

you need to go onto the law society website to find a firm, look at their reviews, and contact them to ask for a home visit. They can’t charge if you need this due to disability.
